This here watch, the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Monoface, it’s somethin’ else. It ain’t no cheap thing, you know. It’s for folks who got some money, I reckon. But it sure is pretty. I seen pictures of it, and it just shines. This one fella, he said it’s a watch for grown-ups. Well, I guess I’m grown up enough, even if I ain’t rich.
They say this Jaeger-LeCoultre, it’s a fancy name, ain’t it? They say it’s a good brand. Better than some others, even. Up there with the best, some folks say. Makes sense, I guess. If you’re gonna spend that kinda money, it better be good, right?
This Reverso Thing, It’s Special
This Reverso watch, it’s got this thing where you can flip it over. Don’t ask me why, I ain’t no watch expert. But they say it’s special. Been around since 1931. That’s a long time. Longer than I been around, that’s for sure. And they still makin’ ’em. Must be doin’ somethin’ right.
You can get ’em all fancy, too. With all sorts of shiny stuff on ’em. Colors and pictures and even them little sparkly rocks. Diamonds, I think they call ’em. Not that I’d know nothin’ about diamonds. This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, it can be real fancy or just plain. But it’s still that Reverso thing, you know? That flippy thing.

- But it looks fancy, like for a rich fella wearin’ a suit.
- I guess you could wear it with anything.
- Even jeans, if you’re brave enough to wear a watch that costs more than my whole house!
They got different kinds of these JLC Reverso watches. This Monoface one, I think that means it only got one face. Makes sense, I guess. Most watches only got one face. They got some with another time on the back of the watch. Where do they come up with this stuff?
Jaeger-LeCoultre, They Know Watches
These Jaeger-LeCoultre folks, they been makin’ watches for a long time. They got this big place, a factory or somethin’, where they make ’em. They say it’s real special. Lots of people workin’ there, makin’ these fancy watches. It’s where they make all the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Monoface watches, too, I reckon.
I seen a picture of one of these Reverso watches, it had all these little gears and things inside. Looked complicated. Like one of them puzzles. I wouldn’t know how to put one of them together. But these Jaeger-LeCoultre people, they do. They’re good at it. They must have to be real good, making these expensive watches.
They even got watches with these… these things they call “complications.” Sounds complicated, don’t it? Just like the name. It’s like they put extra stuff in the watch, just to show off. More gears and things, doin’ all sorts of stuff. I don’t know what all they do. But they look fancy.

- Sounds like a fancy word for spinny thing, I don’t know.
- Maybe it’s for tellin’ time on the moon.
- Who needs that?
This Reverso Tribute Monoface, it ain’t got all that extra stuff. It’s more simple. But it’s still a Jaeger-LeCoultre. So it’s still good, I guess. And it’s still got that flippy thing. They seem to think that is a big deal. It’s a special watch, that’s what they say.
If You Got the Money
If I had the money, I might get me one of these Reverso watches. Maybe. It would be nice to have somethin’ that fancy. Somethin’ that shiny. But I’d probably be scared to wear it. Might scratch it or somethin’. Or lose it. I lose everything.
But if you got the money, and you like fancy watches, this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Monoface, it might be the watch for you. It’s a classic, they say. Whatever that means. And it’s special. That flippy thing, you know? That’s what makes it a Reverso, from that fancy Jaeger-LeCoultre place.
They say it is the best of that Jaeger-LeCoultre. Since 1931 they been making that Reverso. I don’t know what I will be doing in that many years. Probably nothing that good. I would wear that watch everywhere. To the market, to the bingo, everywhere.
