Okay, so, the other day, I got this wild idea to try and remake a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010. Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy, right? But I’ve always been a huge fan of Patek Philippe watches. They’re just so classy and elegant. And this Gondolo model, with all those diamonds and the white gold, it’s just stunning. So, I thought, why not try to make my own version? I started by gathering all the materials I could find. I found some cheap watch movements online, you know, the guts of the watch. Then I spent hours looking for the right kind of white gold plating. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. I wanted it to look as close to the real thing as possible. I even tried to find some small, sparkly stones to mimic the diamonds. It was a real scavenger hunt!
Next, I started putting it all together. I carefully took apart the watch casing I bought and replaced the movement with the one I got online. Then came the tricky part – applying the white gold plating. I had to be super careful not to mess it up. I did a few practice runs on some scrap metal before I worked on the actual watch casing. It was nerve-wracking, but I managed to get it done.

The Result
In the end, my remake of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010 wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. It looked pretty good, kept time, and I was proud of what I had accomplished. I mean, it didn’t really look exactly like the real thing, some of the stones were a bit crooked, and the plating wasn’t flawless. But hey, I made it myself! It’s a conversation starter, that’s for sure. Every time I wear it, people ask me about it, and I get to tell them the whole story. It’s a fun little project that I’ll always remember.
