Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this idea to remake a PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, and I gotta tell you, it’s been a real adventure. I started out just poking around online, you know, seeing what’s out there about these bags. They call ’em “Galleria Saffiano,” and they’re pretty fancy, with those top handles and all.
First thing I did was try to figure out what this “Saffiano” leather actually is. Turns out, it’s real leather, but they do something to it, like embossing, to make it look all special. Not like that full-grain leather, which I know a bit about. Seems like it’s used in a lot of fancy stuff, not just these PRADA bags. Anyway, I needed to get my hands on some of this Saffiano leather. That was a whole thing in itself. I went to a bunch of stores, some real fancy ones, and some not so fancy. Finally found some that looked right.
Figuring Out the Design
Next up, I had to figure out how to actually put this thing together. I saw that these Galleria bags have two zippers on top, which seemed kinda tricky to do. But I like a good challenge, so I got myself some zippers. Then I tried to copy how they put the zippers on the real bags. I messed up a few times, I won’t lie, but I kept at it.
- Get the Saffiano leather (that was tough!)
- Figure out those darn zippers
- Copy the design from the real PRADA bags
- Mess up, try again, mess up, try again…
Sewing and Stuff
Then came the sewing part. Now, I’m not a pro at sewing, but I’ve done it before. Sewing this Saffiano leather was tough, though. It’s pretty thick, and my old sewing machine was not happy. But I managed to sew the pieces together, and it started to look like a bag!
The Final Touches
After all that sewing, I added the handles. That was another tricky part, getting them to look like the ones on the real PRADA bags. I think I did a pretty decent job, if I do say so myself. And there it was, my very own “Remake PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag.” It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it.
So, that’s my story of trying to remake a fancy PRADA bag. It was a lot of work, but I learned a bunch, and now I’ve got a pretty cool bag to show for it. If you’re thinking about trying something like this, I’d say go for it. Just be ready to put in some time and effort, and don’t be afraid to mess up a few times along the way.
