Alright, so I decided to remake that fancy Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119R-001 watch. Now, I’m no expert, but I like tinkering with things, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I dug around online and found some basic specs. This Calatrava thing is about 31mm wide and 2.55mm thick. I grabbed some tools and materials that I thought would work. It wasn’t easy, and I’m pretty sure I made a few mistakes along the way.
Getting Started
I started by sketching out the design. I mean, I just doodled it on some paper. Then, I tried to shape the watch case. I used some metal I had lying around and bent it, hammered it, and did whatever I could to make it look like the real deal. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it was something.
The Details
Next, I worked on the watch face. I printed out a picture of the Calatrava’s face and stuck it on a thin piece of metal. I poked some holes for the hands and tried to make it look decent. It was fiddly work, and my fingers got pretty tired.
Putting it Together
Once I had all the pieces, I started assembling the watch. I slapped the face onto the case, added the hands, and threw in a cheap watch movement I bought online. I messed around with it until it sorta worked. It didn’t keep time perfectly, but it ticked, which was good enough for me.

The Final Product

But, I made it myself, and that’s something. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also pretty satisfying to see the finished product, even if it was a bit rough around the edges.
This Patek Philippe Calatrava thing, they say it is a sought-after status * for me, I just wanted to see if I could do it. And I did, in my own way. It ain’t perfect, but it’s mine.
If you get a Patek Philippe Nautilus,you might wait 8 years. But Calatrava, they say only 1 year. But I didn’t wait. I just made my own.
They said the Grandmaster Chime is the most complicated Patek Philippe. 20 complications. I do not know what it means. I only made a simple one.
