Time:2024-12-24 Author:ldsf125303

This here watch, they call it the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, original order, you know. It’s a real fancy thing, all black and shiny. They say it’s like the dark side of the moon, whatever that means. I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market the other day. They say it’s a big deal, somethin’ ’bout some astronauts and the moon.

Big Deal About Apollo 8, They Say

Back in ’68, way before some of you young’uns were even born, these astronaut fellas went to the moon. Not the one in the sky, you see, they actually went there in a spaceship! Can you believe that? They say this Apollo 8 thing was the first time anyone saw the other side of that moon. This watch, it’s s’posed to be like that other side. All dark and mysterious, I reckon.

This Omega Speedmaster, it’s got all these little doohickeys and numbers. They say it’s a copy, but a real good one. You know, like when you copy the neighbor’s recipe. Not the exact same, but close enough. This one here, it’s got them yellow marks on it, makes it easy to see, I guess. They call it “highlights.” Yellow is a good color, stands out, you know? Kinda like my best laying hen, she’s got them yellow feet.

Same Size, But Skinnier

They say this here watch, this Omega Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s the same size around as the old one, but they made it skinnier. 44.5 mm, they say. Don’t ask me what a millimeter is. It’s thinner now, though, by some such amount. That probably makes it better, I guess. Skinnier’s always better, ain’t it? My old man, bless his soul, he always liked a skinny woman. Said they were easier to handle.

  • It’s black, this watch. Black like that old coal stove we used to have.
  • Got them yellow marks, like I said. Easy to see.
  • They say it’s ceramic. Fancy word for somethin’ hard, I reckon.
  • It’s a copy, but a good one. Like a good knock-off, you understand?

The Inside’s All Fancy Too

They got some writin’ on the back of this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster. “Apollo 8, Dec 1968,” it says, and “Dark Side of the Moon.” They say there’s some special stuff inside, somethin’ called a “Calibre 1869.” Now, I don’t know what that is, but it sounds important, don’t it? Probably makes it tick real good.

My grandson, he’s always on that internet thing. He says this Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, this Apollo 8 one, it’s a big deal. Says it’s worth a lot of money. More money than I’ve seen in my whole life, I bet. He told me it was a “luxury timepiece,” something about celebrating a mission. Lord knows what that all means.

A Whole Lot of Money

They say these Speedmaster Apollo 8 things hold their value. Means they don’t get cheaper like an old used truck. These are new for 2024, they say. Come in a nice box and got papers. These fancy watches, they’re somethin’ else. Back in my day, we were just happy to have a clock on the wall that worked.

They say back in ’66, they changed the numbers on these Speedmaster things. 105.012 to 145.012. Don’t know why, just did. Said those were the two that went to the moon. These astronaut fellas, they wore these things all the time. Must be good luck, or somethin’. Like my rabbit’s foot, ‘cept probably a lot more expensive. If this Omega Speedmaster could get you to the moon, that’s gotta be something special.

Folks Are Crazy For This Watch

This Omega Speedmaster, this Dark Side of the Moon one, people are going crazy for it, I hear. They’re all talkin’ about it. Must be somethin’ real special. I guess if you’re into that sort of thing, this is the watch to have. This CopyOMEGA, it’s the real deal, or so they say. They even call this thing the “Moon Watch” sometimes.

These young folks and their fancy things. I remember when a watch was just a watch. Now it’s gotta be a “luxury timepiece” and go to the moon. Well, I suppose that’s progress for ya. If you got the money, and you want a fancy watch that’s been to the moon, then this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” is the one for you. They’re brand new in 2024, so you better get yours fast.

Me? I’ll stick to my old wind-up clock. It might not have been to the moon, but it tells the time just fine. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it? This Omega Speedmaster is nice, but my clock works fine.
